During the 2016 Manitoba provincial election cycle, the Office of the Leader of Manitoba’s Liberal Party sent a statement to CLC which claimed to represent the beliefs of all Liberal Party candidates and MLAs. The statement suggests that all Manitoba Liberal candidates support the legalized killing of preborn children by abortion, as well as forcing taxpayers to finance those killings with public money. Furthermore, it implies that all Liberal candidates will oppose legislation that would protect the conscience rights of doctors and other health care workers, for example, in continuing to be able to refuse to participate in abortion, or give referrals for abortion. The statement also suggests that every Liberal candidate opposes the fundamental right of parents to withdraw their children from classroom lessons which contradict their religious and moral values, on the topics of marriage and homosexuality.

In a completely erroneous assertion, MLA Fontaine, NDP critic for the status of women, publicly made the false statement that "access to abortion is a human right" (see Quotes tab). The truth is that it has never been conclude in internation law that there is any "human right" to kill unborn children, so MLA Fontaine's rhetoric is either anti-life wishful thinking, or is an intentional lie.

At the UN Commission on the Status of Women in March 2024, Fontaine fired a sarcastic retort at a CLC leader who was questioning her on the link between government funding of abortions for indigenous mothers and its genocidal implications (see Video tab).
